The food was well made. The noodles are soft and springy, the broth in the tonkatsu ramen had a nice flavor that went well with everything in it. Their fried chicken is a very good portion, super juicy, with a nice crisp to it. The one problem I had was when I went to pay there a little notification symbol was mysteriously put over the lowest tip option. I'm all for tipping food service workers but when they try to force a higher tip option it is very frustrating. I've paid on those little tablets plenty of times and never had that issue. I even waited a few days to review to make sure I wasn't being unreasonable with the rating because the waiter that day made it a really bad experience.

Staff is friendly, menu have lots of pictures to better illustrate the various ramen, toppings and food options. The menu is in English on the table so there’s no need to wait for the menu. Upon sitting down the staff will bring ice water with straw. You can customized if you know what you like such as less oily, less salty, softer or firmer noodles etc. The noodles is chewy and wavy, sort of remind me of Udon but not as thick. We love the seasoned egg, it looks like a regular boiled egg but taste great! We always get a season egg for every order in our group. If you are a big eater definitely consider the Jiro Style Deluxe Ramen, that will definitely hit the spot if you are super hungry. There are also some cute trickers and display ornaments in the shop used for decoration. For picky little eaters there also option such as chicken karaage, French fries, etc.

Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai in Fountain Valley is an outstanding choice for Ramen Bowls and other Japanese delights. The staff is super friendly here and you will feel right at home upon entering. Not surprisingly, the menu features an impressively wide array of Ramens; broths and noodle styles alike. I went with their Winter / Spring Seasonal Special, a beautiful bowl of Mizore Ramen Deluxe which is described as Kitakata Style Shoyu Ramen with grated Daikon Radish and Yuzu Pepper. M’wah, absolutely delicious! I followed that up with a very tasty Aburi Chashu Plate. All this and hot tea for $38, including tax and tip. I’m always looking for a great Ramen place and this is certainly one of my favorite finds. Highly recommended.

Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai is great! Their spicy ramen was excellent—rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. It’s the kind of bowl that feels especially ideal if you’re a little under the weather. The noodles are wonderfully springy, the broth is full of depth, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. The service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. If you’re craving truly great ramen, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back

Super friendly greeting as we walked in...and good service. The ramen was great and huge servings! I ate and ate and the more I ate the more noodles seemed to fill the bowl! All sorts of side options to personalize your ramen too! Beer, sake, tea...nice little selection of appetizers...try the fried chicken! Nom nom yum yum! We'll be back to feast again soon!
